Should Men Cry?

In recent times, we’ve seen lots of efforts being made by the society towards abolishing gender inequality and they have all yielded good returns as we’ve seen more women become presidents, senators, ministers, governors and other honourable positions in the society.As we all know, everything which has an advantage must have at least one disadvantage- whether justifiable or not. Sometime last year, a huge step was taken towards abolishing gender inequality in the US when they passed a law which allows women to go topless on the street. In case you didn’t know, going topless on the street[without your breast covered] was a criminal offence before the law was passed. Is that why we are here? Not at all. To the business now!The society at large do not accept the idea of a man crying but I don’t think I’m in support of that theory, neither am I against it. At times I feel that the gender inequality stuff is at play here. Whenever a woman crys, nobody says anything because they feel it’s normal for them to do so even when they know that most of them do cry out of nothing and it’s even more annoying when they do it in pretence in order to portray themselves as being innocent or to get whatever they want.On the other hand, how would you feel when you see a man cry? I know most of you would call that man names like shameless, lazy, insane etc. Some might even go further to call that man a woman.#genderInequalityJesus Wept!!!Wow! Even this great man cried in public. So why did He cry? He cried because He lost someone dear to Him. This reminds me of how I cried when I lost my mom. I just couldn’t stop the tears from dropping. They just kept on dropping like raindrops falling from the skies with acceleration.Personally, I don’t really like seeing anyone cry- whether a man or a womans. If a woman’s tears are seen as being normal, then a man’s shouldn’t be an abomination for we are all humans and as humans, we all have emotions and feelings. So as a man, if you are facing any form of emotional pains, cry if you’re in the mood

Who As A Vampire?

A vampire is a liar with the desire to rule an entire empire with

  • barbwires,
  • gunfires without ceasefire
  • and the required attire to be admired by other esquires except those that conspire with hellfire

cause bushfires to graduate into wildfires and

refuse to retire even when they get tired.
    All their desires will entirely
backfire as they continue to hire

  • partial,
  • expired and
  • uninspired umpires. They would all perspire as if they are in fire until they can’t respire.

It sounds weird but it has a meaning. Please drop whatever message you got from the short rhyme. You can also construct yours and drop it in the comment box.

  • How To Set Goals

I want to become a doctor! Is that a goal or an ordinary statement?

Not all goals are goals as most of the goals people set do not carry the major characteristics of a goal. For your goals to attain a befitting structure, there are some aspects of goal setting that needs to be attended to and they’re

    BE SPECIFIC:
Everyone wants to make it in life and that’s a good one but I do not expect you to have that as your goal because there are so many ways with which one can make it. Being specific talks about narrowing down your goal to the least level attainable e.g if you’ve decided to make it in life as a doctor, you also need to specificy the kind of doctor you’re hoping to become…

TIMING: You want to become a surgeon? But when?

Timing is key to whatever thing we do as it always spurs us to work hard in order to keep up with time.

ADDING EXTENSIONS: By extensions, I mean you being able to point out the key areas you want to make your mark for example, providing the care for HIV.

PLAN: Just as we all know, if you do not plan, you plan to fail and failure you’d get. Always set strategies on how to achieve your goals.

WRITE IT DOWN: This has always been the most neglected aspect of goal setting despite being the most important of all the aspects involved. After writing, always make sure you keep reading it from time to time. When you keep-on reading your goals, you always get motivated to do more in order to achieve them when the time comes.

I hope those tips were helpful to you. Feel free to drop your comments and also remember to share this post with your friends. Thanks.

Acronym For The First 20 Elements

In chemistry, the knowledge of the first 20 element is extremely important because without it, you won’t be able to understand some other important topics like empirical formula, mass-volume calculations, gas laws etc.

With the knowledge of the correct positioning of the first 20 elements, you can easily remember both their atomic and mass numbers.

There had been many acronyms which are being used by person which I’ve tried at one point or the other before I decided to devise my own version. Actually,

Before I did this I was always finding it difficult trying to figure out which comes first between beryllium and boron, silicon and sulphur, chlorine and calcium, phosphorus and potassium but now it no longer an issue. So, enjoy!

  • hydrogen~hydogen
  • helped ~helium
  • little~lithium
  • berylium
  • borrow~boron
  • carbon
  • nine~nitrogen
  • oxide~oxygen
  • from~fluorine
  • neon
  • Nata~sodium
  • margaret~magnesium
  • always~aluminium
  • steal~silicon
  • plantain~phosphorus:
  • sulphur
  • close~chlorine
  • all ~argon
  • kitchen~potassium
  • cupboard~calcium
  • I hope you like it. Please feel free to add your own version via the comment box.

As a matter of fact, textbooks are essential for learning and this makes it extremely necessary for all students to make use of them. Textbooks are always voluminous and as such most students always try their best to avoid them. In reading textbooks, a lot of determination is needed but most times, student’s determination usually get tarnished by their inability to understand especially when they are reading a new topic they haven’t been introduced to by anyone. In this post, I shall be giving you 5 tips that would help you read and understand textbooks. They are:
READ THE RIGHT TEXTBOOKS: Whenever you read the wrong textbook, it will always be difficult for you to understand it. Making the right choice of textbook, is always a very tricky and difficult task to take on. I used to have classmates who always buy big and colourful textbook not for reading sake but for the sake of display. At the end, they start complaining of how difficult it is to understand them. Always try not to make any mistake in getting the right textbooks because it will hurt you more than you think.

KNOW WHAT TO READ FOR: Once upon a time, I tried memorizing the boiling and melting points of all metals. I tried my best but my best wasn’t good enough until I realized that they were not important to me. This happens to many students as they waste most of their time on irrelevant things. To avoid this, I suggest you make use of a current syllabus if you’re preparing for any external exam or ask you teachers for guidance.

DO NOT RUSH: In reading textbooks, it is not how far but how well. It’s always better not to read at all than to read without understanding. Always read at an optimum speed in order to understand more.

READ THROUGH A TEXTBOOK CONSECUTIVELY: I’ve tried reading my textbooks in a ‘once in a while method’ and also ‘consecutively’ and I noticed that I usually understand more when I read consecutively and that’s why I always prefer reading textbooks during the holidays so that I can concentrate fully on them.

JOT: Whenever you read textbooks, you need to jot down some important facts and formulae that comes your way so that you can easily get them to read again in order to understand more. While jotting, you don’t have to turn your jotter into a note by jot down things like advantages, disadvantages, reasons etc. Only jot down difficult definitions, terms, formulae and the like.

I hope this would be helpful to you. Please drop your comments and tell me what you feel about this post. Also remember to share with your friends so that they can benefit too. Thanks.

    Monthly Preparation For JAMB

If you haven’t read my previous post- how to score above 250 in JAMB, please do so before reading this.

In this post, I shall be telling you how to make the most of each month of preparation which I suggested to you via my previous post.

In each month, there are 2 things you must do which are

    reading

    answering past questions.

READING: While registering for JAMB, you would be given a syllabus which contains all the areas of concentration from which all JAMB questions would be gotten from. The syllabus would guide you on all the topics you need to concentrate on. If you can read for 3 hours daily, 15 days would be enough for you to cover up all the areas of concentration for a particular subject.

ANSWERING PAST QUESTIONS: This is very important as it helps you in

    determining how much you know

    improving your skills

    determining your score.

You have to purchase the past questions and answers booklet for each subject you would be sitting for. In the booklet, there are over 30 sessions in it and as such, you might not be able to cover up all the sessions contained in the English Language version because they contain 100 questions each. Therefore I suggest that you answer the last 5 sessions and then pick any other 10 out of the rest.

For all other subjects, you should be able to answer 2 sessions per day as each session contains 50 questions each.

After each session , mark and revise the answers so that you won’t fail them when you come across them again. In some cases, answers provided in the booklet are wrong so, always confirm any suspicious answer with your textbook.

Don’t forget to jot down some important points that comes your way and also take note of those topics you feel you should know more about in order to concentrate on them in the 5th month of preparation.

Another important thing to do is to time yourself while answering past questions in order to improve on your speed.

How is this helpful to you? Please comment and also share with your friends that may need them. Thanks.

How To Score Above 250 In JAMB

These days, it’s almost becoming a normal thing to beat JAMB’s cut off mark due to modern day technology that has been effectively utilised in examination malpractices. During my time, in a hall of about 50 pupils, I was the only one who didn’t make use of a cell phone for writing but at the end, I scored higher than most of them. Even if any of them scored higher than I did, that person might not be able to defend his or her result and even if they can, their conscience would always go against them because they know that their result is not a product of their own brains. It’s always better to write on your own because you would be able to predict your score just as I was able to do. In this post, I would be giving you a tactics that would help you prepare well for JAMB. I’m not just writing for writing sake, I’ve tried it and it worked for me so read and make sure you apply it.

I would be introducing a 5-month preparation plan. Each month would be for concentrating on a particular subject. In this post, I would be making use of the UTME subjects of a science student. I would be giving useful reasons for every decision taken so that you can easily modify this post to suit you needs based on the subjects you would be siting for.

1st MONTH: For those of you who have already taken SSCE before now, your brains must have gone on some kind of holiday and the best way to bring it back to duty, is by starting on a mild note with ENGLISH LANGUAGE. Your brains deserves to be treated with much respect so, don’t be so harsh on it by starting with subjects like mathematics, physics etc. Even if you haven’t taken SSCE{you’re are still in secondary school} it would help you get in the mood of JAMB

2nd MONTH: By now, your brain is still trying its best to get back to full functionality therefore, continue the rehab with another mild subject- BIOLOGY.

3rd MONTH: By this time, your brains must have gathered enough momentum to take on the demanding subjects. This is because your brain’s dormancy is now history. CHEMISTRY should come in.

4th MONTH: This month is for the hardest of them all. I placed PHYSICS here because I know most of you would always see physics as the most difficult subject and also, it involves more calculations than others.

5th MONTH: This month is for revising and correcting all the weaknesses you noticed in yourself in course of the first 4 months of preparation.

In my next post, I shall be telling you what to do in each month of preparation. Stay tuned.

Please comment how helpful this is to you and also share with your friends that would find them helpful.

How To make mathematics your best subject

Mathematics is subject of figures and calculation. Nobody can survive peacefully in this would without the knowledge of mathematics as we all need it in our daily lives for business transactions, playing games etc. Mathematics is the easiest subject in the world because there is always one answer to any given question and also it is very possible to score 100% unlike in other subjects. It might also interest you to know that some people don’t know the answer to

    200 + 200

but they do know the answer to

    $200 + $200

. That’s just how mathematics is to most of those who say it’s difficult. In this post, I would be giving you 5 tips to assist you in your journey to making mathematics your best subject. They are:
PAY ATTENTION: Full attention is always required in learning mathematics. Mathematical problems are being solved in stages and the only way to easily remember them is to pay absolute attention whenever you are being taught. Paying attention is not just looking with your eyes, it’s all about consciously seeing with eyes and also hearing with your ears.

START FROM THE BASIC TOPICS: In solving most mathematical problems, you have to combine the knowledge of so many topics. These topics are always simplier and if you know them, things would be easier for you while taking on the complex ones. For example, in solving lattitude and longitude , you need the knowledge of figures, multiplication, division, trig ratio, angles etc. Jumping into complex topics, without the knowledge of the simplier ones might result in high fever. You’re not too big to learn BODMAS or any other basic topic.

READ MATHEMATICS: Did I just say read? Yes I did. By reading, I mean skimming through all the various processes and stages of solving a particular calculation from set examples. Reading{studying the processes} is always better than jumping into solving at once because it gives you a better understanding of the various stages and processes of solving that kind of mathematical problem.

CALCULATE/SOLVE: Many feel this is where the problem lies but it isn’t. If you can take care of the first 3 tips I gave, this would take care of itself.

PRACTISE: Constant practise, brings about perfection. In mathematics, a single question might be phrased in so many ways that can be confusing to anyone who doesn’t practise regularly. With constant practice, you will come across various patterns any mathematical problem is being phrased.

I hope these tips would do the magic for you. Please remember to drop you comments and also share with your friends that might need them. Thanks.

How To Prepare A Reading Timetable

As a student, having a reading timetable is one thing that makes you more serious with your studies. Anyone can prepare a reading timetable but not everyone can prepare a good one. In preparing a reading timetable, there are certain guidelines to be followed and I would be sharing them with you here. They are:
Give more time for the important subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for Science students and Literature, CRS etc for Art students.

Always try to avoid those subjects that involves calculations during hot weather or in the afternoon.

Give more time for those subjects you’re weak in.

Make sure you have at least 2 reading periods in a day. Although that’s for the weak ones. I believe 3 periods is ideal.

Now that you know how to prepare a timetable, then the next thing you need to know is how to use it. Here are some tips for you:
Whenever you miss a subject in it’s period, just forget about it instead of moving the subject over to the next. If you are fond of doing this, it therefore means you’re lazy.

Make sure you read for 3 hours a day or more.

If you feel like reading at midnight, use it as an opportunity to read you textbooks while the other periods you have is for reading your school notes with the exception of Maths and English.

That will be all for now. I hope it was helpful. Please remember to comment and share this with your friends
